Hilde, Amy & Vivian left on vacation on June 7, and after 1 day in Holland, made their way to Seillans. Annelies and Marty arrived the previous day. This is gonna be a nice summer vacation again. Hilde's parents arrived on June 9.. and more visitors to come, such as our friends the Zantvoort family. Lot of stuff to do; inspection of the renovation works, bugs-and-creepy-crawlers inspection, fix the microwave, get quotations to fix the heater, try to construct a Petanque (or Jeu de Boules) court in the garden, checking the water sprinkler system, meet the neighbours, get drunk a few times etc. etc. Eddy will join the party on June 19th... We will try to keep a daily log of our Vacation 2010.. More to come ! Here the first photos ! Short recap of events: Eddy arrived June 19, and was welcomed by the family, plus Annelies & Marty, plus Opa Frans & Oma (Ina). Full house, but fun to see everybody. We made a trip to the Gorges du Verdon, and enjoyed a few BBQs and watching the Worldcup 2010. The family left, and 2 days later a new load of family arrived; Willem, Corina, Marielle and Joanne. This time we made a trip to the Gorge du Loup and the harbour town of Antibes. Great dinner in Antibes, steak, pizza, beer and wine. The next few days were spent around the pool, and the family left after Holland - Slovakia (2-1). In two days time our friends from Germany will arrive; a mini-reunion with our Zantvoort friends. Today we did some paperwork, updated websites, shopping, preparing for a BBQ tonight with French friends. Looking forward to the Worldcup Quarter final this Friday; Brasil - Holland....... Continued: The match against Brasil was won, and the rest of the worldcup 2010 was highs and lows for Holland. Highlights are the semi-final against Uruguay, and seeing all the Orange fans.. the lowlight was the lost final against Spain.. We spend some nice days with our friends, the Zantvoort family, around the house, trip to the Gorge du Verdon with fun on the water, and a great dinner. Thanks for your visit Frans, Madeleine, Eline and Arlette ! The last week was spend without visitors, and more with our neighbour Thierry and his kids. We had 2 pizza parties and this means in a real pizza oven at his pool. Great taste and good fun. After a final day of cleaning, minor fixing, etc. we left Seillans, and moved to our apartment in Schonwald im Schwarzwald (Germany). Great weather, and the usual awesome german food, wine and beer. We visited Europa-Park, and just enjoyed the house, the hikes, the roddle-bahn in Guttach.. Almost time to go back to work. Great vacation. Photos here.
